Madhuri Dixit's family has always kept a low media profile and therefore you can find hardly any pictures of her siblings. She has two sisters - Rupa and Bharati, and one brother - Ajit.

Madhuri Dixit grew up in a traditional family. In 1999 at the peak of her bollywood career she arranged married Dr. Sriram Madhav Nene, a cardio surgeon, who had been brought up abroad.

Madhuri left her fame behind to start a life away from the Indian media in Denver, Colorado. She gave birth to her two sons Arin in 2003 and Ryan in 2005.

During the shooting of Madhuri’s film "Aaja Nachle", directed by Anil Mehta the Nene family started thinking about moving back home.  The hit TV dance show "Jhalak Dhikla Jaa"  was super popular and the Nene family then decided to settle and live in Mumbai. This has started a new phase in the Madhuri's acting career.

Her husband is supportive and proud of her. He was with her during the ceremony when she received the Padma Shri.
